Cyber security agencies in Canada, the US and the UK are accusing Russia of trying to steal covid-19 vaccine research.
The cyber threat was directed at organizations trying to develop corona virus vaccine and treatment.
The top cyber and national security agencies jointly allege that the malicious activity was tempted by the APT29 group and “it is almost certainly operate as a part of Russian intelligence services.”
The agency says hacker used Malware to target global organization by scanning computer IP address for potential vulnerabilities.
It remains unclear whether the attempt was successful in stealing information.
The communication securities establishment told that it will be offering support and mitigation services to limit impact to targeted organization.
